It will be TERRIBLE if it's a Liverpool player. They'll take the highest moral high ground that has ever been taken by anybody, will play the victim anytime he's slurred, will claim they are a 'groundbreaking' club, will get tons of favorable press, etc.

LBGT people still get all kinds of abuse, so if a top-class footballer (or even Chris Smalling lol!) coming out can help improve attitudes, then good luck to him.
