Best centre back pairing we had recently was Jones and rojo .

I've always thought smalling was a bit shit tbh

You're basically describing Memphis, Martial and Rashford.

There's zero point in looking for any more. They'll just be asked to cover the full back for 90 mins and at the first opportunity get benched for Mata/Sanchez/Fellache-me.

Like Giggs and sharpe were. Why are modern young wide players excused such responsibilities? If Giggs played like Memphis or martial he’d have spent all his time on the bench too.

Excuses are the order of the day mate; I thought you knew that. Why hold a player accountable for not making runs, idiotic decisions and terrible execution when you can blame the manager?
