The deal includes Trafford Gateway, a one-acre parcel of land directly opposite the stadium; Three Wharfside, a 177,000 sq ft industrial warehouse currently leased to AKW Group, and Canalside, an estate of seven industrial units behind Three Wharfside.

Not much over the tracks, that would probably hinder any possible extension of the South Stand.

Didn't they used to own a lot of the land over the tracks, behind the South Stand but flogged it when the Glazer's took over, or am I making it up?

I thought they had bought some of the land across the track as well, maybe the lad who's done the highlighting has missed it.

what area could you buy over the tracks? its all residential

lord tuftyness reckons it was incase they want to build a whole new stadium

TuftyMUFC Andrew Kilduff @
@andersred Did hear the freight land was incase they wanted to build a complete new stadium. As more viable than further OT development.

IIRC, they had bought up a lot of houses around there over the years and rented them out.

I heard that - in fact didn't one of the middle houses get bowled as access to the track area?

Have you seen it? It's £#%&!ing insane tbh.

If United ever did build a new ground, we'd more then likely end up with a Wembley/Emirates clone

They're never building a new ground to increase it by 14k

Once a ground becomes bigger than 60k the building costs go right up

That's what I thought, maybe it isn't owned by United

Can they not do a Lansdowne Road and build the grandstand over the train line?

you're a good lad, watcher but to replace OT with a £#%&!ing american-designed superbowl-esque stadium???? no £#%&!ing way.

It's not bad tbf, better then most new stadiums I've seen. Put a giant single tier stand behind one of the goals (Like the 'Die Südtribüne' at the Westfalenstadion ) and it'd be perfect. It's all hypothetical anyway. I doubt we'll see any expansion of the current ground, never mind a new one, under the current owners.

The Cowboys didn't have to pay for that though did they? aren't most American stadiums funded by the local government, it's basically corporate welfare, they usually threaten to take the franchise to another city if they don't build them a new stadium ffs:shakehead:
