I had heard rumours about this - didn't believe it for a second.

I hated the Cosmos as a kid but am happy to see this revival. Not sure it can ever be the same though, as the Cosmos and the 70s were so made for each other.

don't know how else to describe it, actually. from what I read, after being the most successful 'franchise' out there, they slipped into obscurity when the North American Soccer League collapsed. It seems like a clever bit of business trying to bring the club to life, and assembling a squad worthy of the 'brand' - so a tad cityesque, maybe, but with Eric running things I am very much looking forward to seeing how things pan out.

I can't wait to see what he does with them. Hopefully we'll get to see the team that Eric (re)built. He wants to make them the best side in the states, then one of the best in the world.
