He doesn't say who he means. Cryptic. Must be talking about Berbatov. Or even say he's not the best forward, just player. Could be Giggs, Scholes

I think I'd rather have a fit Balotelli atm tbh. I doubt he'd be quite such a mardy, miserable @#%&! at United either.

I know I like that about him.

I can't hate him the way I would ordinarily hate a City player, as he makes it so absolutely £#%&!ing blatant that he doesn't want to be there

rooney this season has

-had an extended holiday with the wife in dubai (mid season)
-sent to a fitness camp in america (midseason)
-threatened to leave the club and given a PAY RISE

on the pitch.

12 league appearances, 1 goal from open play. 42 shots at goal.

just presenting facts.

You also hated him throught the 5-6 years tremendous service he gave prior to his terrible form this season. We get it, his form this year has proved you right. It's gone some way to making up for the suffering you endured watching him last term etc.

Meanwhile Balotelli

* went back to Milan for surgery and hung a Milan flag out his bedroom window
* crashed his car into a women's penitentiary ("with my reputation?")
* went to dinner with a Milan director and said he will definitely play for them at some point
* and apparently played a couple of games of football.

nah i like rooney.
good player just abit overrated and at the moment its hard to disagree.

i dont know if he has deteriorated as a player but its either that or his footballing brain isnt working at the moment.

he cant even hit a ball clean with his laces anymore (the way gibson can). him and scholes used to be two players who could really spank a ball from just outside the box but it seems rooney cant anymore. on sunday he has two chances and he scuffed both of them and to be honest thats the first time in years he has attempted to hit it as its really some sort of weird chip that hasnt worked since boro in the cup 4 years ago.

he also likes to pull away from goal and not try beat a defender and bear down on goal. its always peel to the left come back facing away from goal and some sort of cross to the far post...

hope he pulls his finger out as im actually begining to have more faith in berbatov than him.

He has been abysmal lately, I totally agree. His passing has gone completely to shit....we miss that more than his goals.

Default Re: Balotelli > Rooney

Rooney's first touch has been consistently poor for most of the last 10 months. It has always been a slightly unreliable part of his game even when playing well but this spell is the worst of his Utd career.

It also contributes to some of Utds passing problems, having a forward who keeps giving the away and slowing down attacks because he needs 3/4 touches does nothing for keeping the pace of the game at the level Utd need.

The problem is that Hernandez is not yet ready to play every week, is not great at linking play and is probably best suited to use as a substitute in the bigger matches. Add to that that Berbatov plays best with a partner, is not really suited to the lone forward role and it looks like Utd will just have to play Rooney through this form.
