£#%&!ed me right off too. There was a bit of a malaise, they could've gone on and set points and scoring records but instead just switched off, and they carried it into the following season IIRC.

We went a bit stale that season, tbh.

Fergie had absolutely the right idea in shaking up both the team and the way they played after that. And but for an absolutely mad spell in the early part of the following season, we might have got that elusive 4 in a row. We certainly played some terrific stuff that (2001/02) season - along with a few shockers (Boro at home)

By the end of that season we were so decadent we had Andy Goram in goal.
