So I've had a mail from BT

If I renew my contract for 12 months it will cost me £5 per month. If I stay with them but don't tie myself in then I'll get charged £6.75 extra per month (on top of the fiver)... Or I can just £#%&! them off all together. Decisions decisions.

Word of warning for BT broadband customers:

BT are automatically adding the new channel to your bill and you'll be charged an extra £5 a month. You have to downgrade your sports package to 'BT Sports Lite' to avoid the charge.

The robbing @#%&!s know that most people wont know how to do it.

BT Sports Lite = Only BT Sport 1
BT Sports = BT Sport 1, 2, Europe & ESPN.

WIth the Lite package you don't get Champions League, FA Cup and the European leagues.

Haven't gone near it yet, tbh.

Upgrading my internet, so not interested in annoying myself with this until then

Faster internet speeds doesn't guarantee it to not buffer btw .
I've had sd programmes buffer on my 150mb broadband with a wired connection .
It's all about finding the best links .

Assuming this android thing runs off wifi?

Ours is gash, not sure why we pay BT £20 odd for it. Think we get about 2 meg!

Think our Sky is about £50 for Family plus Movies. Can't bring myself to get Sports but I think it's a battle I'm going to lose.

A brief peruse of this thread suggests that anyone buying an android box is a mug? Is that correct?

BT are 'offering' the HD package for 12 months @ £16.50pm if I stay with them - I'm on sky and don't have BB with BT so presume that's not a completely awful deal?

I £#%&!ing hate paying for TV. Feels like it should be free.
