No idea but if you can't see that City had 4 of the top 10 players in the division already in that squad when Guardiola turned up then i don't know what to tell you.

It could mean those better players have under-performed.

Better players does not always equate to more points (see Leicester title winning side)

He's 2nd best to a 'better manager' who's spent more. That's the only point I'm making. We are where we are by design.

Business is good, we're not spending a ridiculous fortune trying to keep up. Perfect.

Now if you'd rather be 2nd-4th but playing more exciting football, then Poch is indeed your man. That at least is an honest argument.

Moving players on- Fellaini excused - has to come down to Woodward not doing his job. I believe he is easily outwitted by agents.

I dont think our problem is penny pinching - we've spent loads and we keep trying to spend loads

The problem is

a) our squad is huge and full of deadwood, you can't just keep adding new signings and young players to it
b) we keep chasing the big £100m Bale players and then being left in the lurch when they don't want to come
c) when the top tier players DO come they play a bit shit sometimes ie Sanchez, Pogba, Di Maria

Why are people arguing about Mourinho and Pep when Mourinho can't even win against Sevilla at home?

Because City and Pep are a wonderful shield for any criticism for the Mou fan boys.

Indeed.

It’s a truly revolting argument actually, that the only reason City are light years ahead of us is because they’ve spent a fraction more on transfer fees.

City are ahead of us because it’s a plan 10 years in the making. United don’t plan past the next balance sheet and twitter follower. It also helps not to have to spend a billion on debt financing. City are also willing to take a financial hit when a signing doesn’t work out and just get them out the club, whilst replacing them with another 50m + signing. With city’s owners in charge of united, we’d have got rid of far more players this past few summers.

yeah it takes 10 years to play attractive football

I am not expecting united to go out and win the £#%&!ing treble but with the investment we have made how about being at least enjoyable to watch?

How about not draining any hope of a good season before we have even passed a ball?

Every team had the World Cup every team wants to get players in the £#%&!ing fun vacuum that we have leading the club is the problem

But it can't be said that - for the most part - the football was great to watch under the two previous managers either. Which alone suggests dumping JM might not be a magic solution.

It suggests we need to get better at picking managers.

LVG and Mou had some of the biggest reputations about (not ideal criteria but not the most unambitious either), in hindsight they'd both lost their hunger but it's not like we appointed nobodies.

We knew upfront Mourinho was a boring @#%&! though. Van Gaal thrust boredom upon us.

The way pre season has started, I can see a huge car crash of an event before the start of the season, would not be suprised if we start the season without Mourinho in the dugout.. It has all the feelings of a major bust up.

Guardiola arrived and within the first 12 months binned about two thirds of the squad. Plan?

It's always about players first and foremost. They're the ones on the pitch. As Guardiola said when he was at Bayern, you can create a great team without a great manager - you can't do it without great players. United for the last five years have not had great players. The standard of player is better now than it has been at any stage since Fergie left, but there's still a way to go.

And it's still clearly a concern that the most talented in our squad are not the best performers. That reflects on the coach.

Smells a bit like Team Mou that post. See you've still got your reservations but not sure you're ready to die for them at this stage.

Hop aboard the Mou Mou train
