How much did we pay for Rio in 2002? We should ask that plus 50%

Wrong. He's our best defender and makes Rio a better player.

not sure about that. theyre a great pairing, rio has a lot more organisational skills, more vocal, more of a leader. quick, great at reading the game.

vidic is a tough tackling no nonsense old fashioned CB

rio is the better overall defender but both are quality.

That isn't the issue. If as vio correctly points out Vidic is our 3rd best defender, given our record this season, selling him is a no brainer. particularly when we can get Villas 2nd best defender for about half the price. See, 2nd best trumps 3rd best completely.

Rio is superior defender, but he's right - Rio is a much player player when Vidic is around. he gives him the support/cover he needs

not in the same league.

6 good games against some toothless league teams is hardly enough to put him in the same bracket as the best defender in europe and possibly the best defender we have ever had on our books.

They both compliment eachother very well but I reckon Rio is more vunerable without Vidic than vice versa.

I know, Barcelona at home last season says something else but that's just my opinion.

when there's been defensive faults this season, Rio has been as much to blame as Vidic.

Both are brilliant and Rio is certainly one of the best CB's in the world, but he's not void of criticism.

Anyway, we'd be stupid to let Vidic go.

I hope there isn't any truth in this.

Milan and Real Madrid are both in a right state. They've got some nerve to come banging on the door of the European and World Champions asking for our best players.

not sure tbh, vidic was getting rescued quite a bit by rio earlier in the season, cant think of too many times rio has been rescued by vidic this season.

No, nor is it in any way an accurate description of what has actually happened this season and that's for sure as we all know.
