thought he was tremendous yesterday again, his movement constantly created space for rooney and the wide players, always offered an option when we had the ball out wide and gave us a real threat whenever the ball was loose, showed great energy in closing the arsenal defenders down, was involved in both goals and could have scored two or three as well. surely deserves to start on merit.

more important though is that both our main strikers seem to play better with him than with each other. rooney & pea looks a great pairing with rooney naturally dropping deeper and/or wide, berbatov & pea is a great balance with pea's movement giving berbatov space and his pace and movement giving options.

Ferguson clearly sees Chico and Rooney as a more profitable partnership. Gotta wonder where it leaves Berbs. A RVN-style departure in the summer maybe.

i think whats more encouraging is the fact that all 3 seem to be peaking at the right time, fergie needs to rotate all of them, keep them all fresh and hungry.

its amazing what one game can do, before yesterday i was dreading the game and the run in, now we're looking at strikers in top form, tony v back,giggs scholes well rested, vds flying as usual, park and nani to come back in and the back 4 looking solid with rio to come back in.

not really arsed what way tuesday goes now although it would be great to go through, an fa cup(beating city along the way) and league double would be excellent.

my only gripe would be evra looking knackered.

hopefully fabio can get in there for a couple of games,

Who would want to buy him ( or more importantly, pay him the sort of wage he is on at United) though ?

Think Chico may enjoy playing with Valencia, got a glimpse of it yesterday and it looked promising.

Agree with you Bors. He's ready imo, he's say it a lot 'cos I don't think he gets the credit he deserves for it...but he's a top footballer, not just a good finisher, a top footballer, and it's a discredit to him to say he'll always be a good 'super sub' as people make out.

bollox, berb has been excellent recently, fair enough he hasnt been scoring but he still been playing well, and rooney has been steadily improving over the last month or so now.

I don't think any of the forwards are playing especially well, Rooney is playing better but he couldn't of got much worse. I think that's more down to the lack of creativity in CM not just their own form. I look at Carrick, Fletcher and Gibson and I don't see anyone who can offer creativity in the middle.

Bit gutted for Berbatov, leading scorer and he's 'rested'.

Read he'd been gven a one year extension, as per the terms of his contract?

Needs to stop that embarrassing praying thing he does before games. All good apart from that.

something that berbles isn't given credit for is his attitude towards being rested. we need all 3 of them. can't see the point in not having berbatov tbh. he is pure class and has the best feet at the club.

The beauty of Hernandez is he just does the basic things that you are taught as a kid.

He gets across his man and attacks the near post.
He runs across the line and dips in when the ball is played.
He picks up space - either between the defense and midfield, or where a player has been dragged out of position.
He harries defenders and works hard.
He gets the ball under control, passes it off and moves off the ball to receive it again.

In the age when people are trying to make football complex, and football got dull and boring, players like him, the twins, Smalling and Vidic are revered because they just play the game simply as it's meant to be played.
You can add Barca into that - all they do is pass and move off the ball, do things quickly, play quickly from restarts, press high up the field to win the ball back. A very simple idea and very successful.
