£17 million for a player who had a half decent world cup but nobody would take a punt at before but on the other hand he played week in week out for Bayern. £10 million would be a fairer price

according to the bbc website this morning utd and spurs have both had bids rejected

they are playing hard ball, they will have an agreement in place with one of the clubs by the end of the month

Two years ago we could of had him for 5m, possibly less.

All English players are over priced now, it's well shit.

He'd be an excellent addition to our midfield and add a bit of steel to it. Could have done with a player like him at Newcastle. Not really bothered what the transfer fee is.

My bet is the summer now, he's cup tied in Europe, it's convenient for Bayern to keep him until the summer. Then they can get a replacement(s) who is not cup tied for them too.

Never been a fan of Hargreaves and my opinion hasn't changed on the back of a couple of decent games in a poor quality world cup.

Having said that, I'm struggling to name someone I do think we should go for.

Probably true, but £10 million wouldn't get him. You can't really get players for a "fair price" these days.

You'd hope so with Evra only being 25 and Gabby 27. Makes no sense at all otherwise.
