This is a classic 'quote'.

Let's have a close look:

'Remember' = vague recollection

'Everyone' - 1 or 2 people, possibly wumming.

"RI" - the wrong place to go to form opinions about anything.

"Slating" - possibly questioning his then questionable form.

As you were.

No, sorry. You misunderstood me and perhaps rightly so.

'As you were' as in, relax, your ordeal is over rather than, it was you doing the slagging.

It seems to be the way nowadays,Giggs wasnt good enough according to most last season and now he's back to best.

Ronaldo should have been been punted to the first bidder, now it seems its Rooneys turn to be sold off.

The Rooney love in will be back on track soon.

Default What Keith said.

Scholes was awful before his mystery injury ruled him out altogether.

This was widely, correctly and regretfully noted.

Still, no need to let that interfere with a bout of gratifying self-righteousness.

Edit: unlike Scholes, Giggs *does* get unfairly slated. Still. The most underappreciated player among United's own fans, by far.

actually, on mature recollection, I remember starting a thread entitled 'It pains me to see what Scholes has become.'

He did have some sort of viral thing going on that £#%&!ed him up big-time for a couple of seasons where he tired dramatically after 70 minutes or so. Looks like he came out the other side ok though.

Wayne should play in Scholes position when the prince is rested. He needs to play himself back into form.

Very true. Not to mention how well he played in central midfield last season after Scholes injury. Wonderful player, one of the very best I've ever seen.

Since 2006 he's been excellent again, though.
I don't go along with that. He was so good at such a young age, that many expected him to get alot better. Also, I think Fergie mentioned in his autobiog, that in an effort to make Ryan a better all round player (passing, crossing etc), he perhaps lost abit of the magic he had in the early - mid 90's.

I don't know, but there have been very few players in English football that have maintained his level of performance for so many years.

Default Indeed.

And even when we were at our most dismal in recent seasons, Giggs was one of the few things that made it at least partly bearable to watch. What little good creative play we had that didn't come through Rooney or Ronaldo came though him.

He's been patchy, all right - he's varied between quietly effective and outright spectacular.

Not fulfilling his potential? Both his medal collection and his football suggest otherwise.
