Yep. Viv Anderson, Ralph Milne, mike phelen, Mel donaghy etc; whilst selling two fan favourites and £#%&!ing off the ‘fledglings’ in favour of older, experienced players after the young ones had excited us and looked great. That’s the template.

What £#%&!ing style did united have 86-90? Even the manager said he’d take dour 1-0s and playing the offside trap if it meant winning. As for promoting youth over senior players, that’s bullshit. He played them during an injury crises, everyone got excited, and then he dropped them at the first opportunity in favour of more experienced players. It was dour and depressing as £#%&!.

As for mourinho moaning, maybe someone will produce a banner about 3 years of excuses, like they did Fergie.

Aside from him never having shown any inclination to do so throughout his career and having beliefs and outlooks on football that are completely contrary to the type of identity I'm talking about? Well, if you need another reason - he seems to hate the place.

He's not the right man. At all. But talk that United have to win the league this year is totally over the top.

the main difference between fergie and mou is that people who wouldn't have given fergie a chance (and those who would) didn't know what he could do. sadly, everyone knows exactly what mou can do and it is depressing as shit. he's a cheating @#%&! who hates football.

By his own admission and track record at the time, he was a dour win at all costs disciplinarian who happened to be successful and considered the best manager in Britain when we hired him. I didn’t like him and was gutted united went for him. That’s what united hired and that’s what they got, except his united team was an absolute shambles 4 years into his reign, when he was 50. We started getting consistently good to watch in terms of style when Kidd took over from Knox. There’s no question Ferguson was educated into the ‘united way’ of trying to win with style.

that must be why he complained about a disgrace of a performance after aberdeen beat rangers in a cup final. "winning cups doesn't matter. our standards have been set long ago and we're not going to accept that from any aberdeen team. no way should we take any glory from that." his philoshophy always meant a commitment to attack. soz. fake news.

the point was really that we've seen enough of mou to know he won't change, though.

19th mate.

19th when he took over. We had no standard to uphold. We do now. Or least we should. The club and the game of football itself is entirely different to 32 years ago.
