they look like they can £#%&! up at any time and the way they are set out leaves them very little margin for error.

All about creating penetration through the middle, not asked to play in a safe manner. The Utd run to the CL final in 2011 would be the best example of Giggs in that role, 2 working wide players in Valencia and Park allowing Giggs a lot of freedom to play an adventurous style, and he was 1 of the most effective attacking players in the competition.

Mata has to work harder to rotate positions with Di Maria to make it work fully.

Fletcher's hiding out there

When our defenders have the ball he's sticking to his Burnley player and not showing for the ball. Cowardly behaviour

No matter who he buys in the forward positions makes no difference when the defence is like this. I bet de Gea is constantly worrying about what is going to happen next.

What happened to the guy who said he'd make sure his opposing player was up for a fight? No fight in him what so ever.

Poor so far. Aimlessly drifting in possession mostly, the odd bright spark. Defensively were a shambles. Losing every battle out there.

It would help if we had real wing backs rather than failed wingers

It's so obvious. When our defenders have got the ball they've got no options hence the long punts. We're playing without a midfield.

Nice to see Young racing away to show for the early throw from De Gea. A united winger hiding

Rooney thrives on those long balls to head down the middle.
