Question obi Mikel

If he had've come to UTD and not gone to the rent boys in the summer, do you think he would have commanded a place in the first team yet? The Hargreaves deal wouldn't have even been menioned if he had've kept to his word and joined us. It could've saved us £20m in the long run.

Saying that, I saw him play at the Bridge on Tues and he is shit.

Absolute nonesense. He can't play the holding role, can't even tackle or win the ball back.

He's an attacking midfielder and you'd play the two together? Putting even more pressure on our hardly robust defence?

Carry on...

Are there any teams that do play two attacking midfielders with no defensive ones? I can't think of one - a team that plays 4-4-2 anyway.

Pity he can't tackle then and has absolutely no interest in the defensive side of his game. A point made time and time again by his old club Lyn when they tried to get him to accept more responsibility, he just wasn't interested.

Attitude has already £#%&!ed the Chelsea coaches, playing staff and the supporters off. In such a short space of time too. Nice one Mikel.

No. It wouldn't work against most sides either, even the average ones. The amount of pressure the back four would come under would almost certainly result in a goal or two.

I shudder to think how we'd manage atm with two attacking midfielders in the job. Our defence is playing like the Keystone Cops so we'd certainly gift the opposing team more than 2/3 good chances a game.

Agreed. He has been superb all season. Defo their player of the year. Should be a contender for the PFA Award - although that has already gone to Ronnie.

Always wanted to join us anyway. I remember him mentioning us in his press conference and thinking: "Was he meant to say that?". £#%&!ed if I remember what the comment was but was something praising us.

Default We're looking at this the wrong way round.

Unless several scouts, coaches and managers are very, very wrong, Mikel has real talent. If he'd had the strength of mind to insist on going through with a move to United, he'd likely apply that strength of mind to making something of that talent. But he took what he thought was the quick and easy route to success. Which is why Whaley's info rings true. Mikel's a flake. And it'll be a surprise if he's a success anywhere.

I still think we should have pursued the matter as far as we could, on principle, to show we can't be £#%&!ed around. Because now everyone knows we can be. But that's another issue.
