Can't quite remember the year but it was Cantona vs Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Wondering if 7 is the right age, hes surely too young at 4 nearly 5.

Jaffo Junior was 7 when I took him to his first game. 22 years on and we still go together, can't beat it.

Edit: I was 9 when I first went

4 years old, 83-84 season. Had had an argument the year before with my old man because I’d been supporting City and Wigan the year before that so he took me to try and sway me.

I don’t remember much from them early years apart from being terrified and I think that’s the thing that stayed with me all throughout my time going. Yes it was sometimes terrifying but you knew that everyone there had your back and you actually felt pretty safe.

I’m not sure what the experience would be like for a young kid now. I’d imagine the walk from the concourses to the seats when the stadium opens up must still be pretty special but I can’t think of much else.

(Part of the above was slightly eloborated)

Daughter hasn't seemed interested to date (9), don't want to force anything

Rep for first game scarf on forecourt pics BTW. I've got some in a shoe box somewhere

I was 2. It was a family day or something, during the warm-up I toddled off through an open gate and onto the pitch and Sammy McIlroy handed me to a copper

Started going properly regularly when I was about 5 or 6 I think.

77 Cup final, I was 4 1/2 and remember £#%&! all about it apart from it being noisy. I get flashbacks when I see the highlights.

Started going properly in the 79/80 season. Away games from 82 onwards.

Took my youngest to the league cup final v Villa when he was 4.

Can’t really remember. Must have been 8 or 9. Have a vague memory of playing a team in black and white stripes. Went to most home games with dad from about that time. Early teens would go to the odd match with mates as well.

Would to take kids but not like we can just jump on a bus.

6 in 1980. We beat Leicester 5-0. Still remember coming up the steps and seeing the pitch. Was amazing. The stench of piss and cigs not so amazing.

Forgot for me.

13 year old lad has gone from not being interested to being massively interested and it’s great. Copenhagan game he started shouting “PASS IT RASHFORD YOU GREEDY @#%&!!” Followed by an apology to me. “It’s fine! I agree (just don’t tell yout mum)”

At jaffo junior's first game someone (probably Wayne's Ear's now I think about it) behind us shouted something similar to that and I said to JJ that he might hear some swear words but not to tell his mum

He gave me a :keane and said "I hear that every day at school"
