He's decent, but not Fabinho.

Basically, Fabinho and Griezmann would be epic.

Dier and Barkley would be a massive disappointment.

Xabi Alonso also pointing him out recently as an English player to watch. Pretty high praise from one of the midfielders of the generation.

Dier is like a Carrick cloning experiment gone wrong. He's not even qualified as home grown.

Buying shit English players to fulfil the quota is one thing, buying them when you don't even need the @#%&!s is quite another.

Don't let the passport fool you either. Formed in Sporting's academy

A few have mentioned three at the back. Perisic as a LWB. Not sure JM has used the system that often. Maybe at Inter? Worked out well enough in the Chelsea game and would allow us the flexibility to play 2 or 3 up front. Did Pogba play in a 3 4 3 at Juventus? Fabinho seems just what we need. Very good defensively.... versatile, quick and powerful.

I like Dier. Good player with room to grow. Reads the game well, decent passer of the ball, versatile and tactically very good too. If you're going to have flying full-backs a player like him who can drop in and make it three at the back is crucial. That's what Spurs do.

That said the prices banded about for him are too much without factoring in Levy tax. You're better off trying to identify a talent for cheaper. Don't know why we were never in for him in the past.

Wouldn't take him at United though after his fake tough guy threats aimed at Andercito:

“I’ve made a pass and it was a long time afterwards [that] he’s elbowed me in the face, and I just can’t see why. For me, it’s just ridiculous. So I know what he did, and I don’t like that kind of stuff. I don’t mind people kicking each other at times and stuff, but that’s just dirty and not needed.”

Asked whether he had sought an apology, Dier said: “I don’t need him to apologise. I’ll see him soon … These things happen. But I don’t know why he did it, to be honest. That’s why I was angry. It was just strange and it’s not nice.” Spurs travel to Old Trafford on 11 December.

Happy for players to have rucks even as teammates tbh. Doubt ours ever do.

All you need to say is 'by all accounts' and TBR's throne is ready to be usurped.
