He wasn't a Dortmund player at the beginning of the transfer window.

Besides Rennes' owner also owns share from Puma and basically sent him expressly to Dortmund.

But he's a terrific talent, much more talented than Coman for instance, much better vision with his passing, smarter, two footed, a must buy in the future.

PS : he was also a vocal Barça fan on his twitter so there's that...

Dembele looks to be an immense talent

Shades of Cristiano circa 2005/2006. Just that incredible directness and aggressiveness in the way he attacks defenders.

Dortmund will be a great move for him, as he will get the chance to play with freedom at the top level without the incredible pressure he'd get at one of four elite clubs - United, Barca, Real Madrid and Bayern.

If he does well at Dortmund, and becomes a more-rounded player, he'll get the move to one of the big four, and if he continues to improve from there, he could get the big move to Klopp's Anfield revolution.

Did great in the French league last season and has looked great in preseason but let's see how he does in a tougher league and especially in the CL

True, but he is exactly the type of player that is easy to become infatuated with, 2 footed and so direct and dynamic on the ball. I hoped we were getting that in Memphis but he does not have the acceleration or dribbling ability that you would desire.
