Post Sir Frog gets a kicking in today's papers.

Manchester based hacks at The Telegraph and Mail laying into the Glorious Leader today. Am told a couple more were on the radio this morning doing similar. Seems Woodward has given them the nod to place a lot of the blame for United's current struggles at Fergie's door. Interesting.

Manchester United turmoil is partly down to Sir Alex Ferguson and the club's transfer policy

Manchester United's problems started with Sir Alex Ferguson... the Old Trafford club are paying the price for his dud signings

The amount of money we have wasted on mediocre players in the last few years is disgusting

Did you know we now have the most expensively assembled squad in the Premier League in terms of transfer fees paid?

It's not altogether surprising.

Galling as the debt payments are, we have had the means to assemble a vastly superior squad to the rash of ill-disciplined misfits we find ourselves encumbered with.

The most expensively assembled and probably the least valuable compared to the others :shakehead:

Bit risky calling out Sir Mother£#%&!er out like that, as he was probably following orders from the Glazers, just like Woowar is doing now

Manchester United are attempting to return to the summit of the Premier League with the most expensive squad ever assembled in the English game.

The arrival of Angel Di Maria this week takes the combined transfer fees of the United squad to an eye-watering £401.2m - and that figure could grow with new signings before the transfer window closes.

The value of United's squad now outstrips their neighbours and defending champions Manchester City, who are worth a collective £344.15m when the transfer fees are added up.

Perhaps. The time we should have been spending really big was about four or five years ago when the Moscow team began breaking up. Literally the only signing we got right in that sense was De Gea.

Well, and Pogba

Interesting timing for sure.

Moyes has another free pass again. While some of these players haven't lived up to expectations and are Ferguson signings, the damage done by Moyes has £#%&!ed up some of these players to a point where nobody wants to give us money for them as it's such a big risk.

Chicharito is a good player, but once Moyes got his hands on him it's incredible how far back he's fallen.

Fergie got lazy in his last few years IMO. He knew his career was coming to an end, so was only interested in winning a few pots to leave on a high. The long-term progression of the club was neglected, which is probably why the signings were so poor, the scouting system went to shit, and the youth-team conveyor-belt dried up.

Can't blame him too much as he put 25 years of blood, sweat and tears into the club, but ultimately he seems to have failed in passing over a healthy squad to his successor(s). The argument that he left a squad of Champions is misleading, as no other manager would have won the title with those players, other than Fergie.

The scouting system didn't go to shit by accident, it was left to a coterie of crooks with vested interests.

I thought so. The effective Chief Exec, under pressure from his manager, sponsors and owners clearly trying to shift most of the blame onto the club’s most legendary figure. Weaselled out of the Moyes appointment last Spring too iirc, let Frogson carry the can.

Wonder if Fergie will get his own pals on Fleet Street to fire back immediately, or hold off and wait for further calamities to unfold.

Tbf for the 12 years prior to his resignation, the only players to develop from the youth team into proper first teamers were Brown, OShea, Fletcher and Evans. Maybe Gibson if you want. All hardworking but none especially gifted.

That's a long term problem.

The Zaha transfer was as bent as Bebe imo. I can’t believe any competent scout could have watched him and thought he was a potential United player.

Plus he didn't fit Ferguson's, at one time, all important personality profile.

Hernandez was awful generally bar his first season when goals at crucial times masked his general play. Not sure you can pin it on moyes.

His first goal sums him up well. Should have been a simple tap in but instead he was falling back while he hit it. He hit the ball against his face which went in. Very good knack/lucky of being there at the right time but awful player outside the penalty box.

I am not sure he will ever be even a good player for any top club. Not much more than a super sub.
