Valencians are stupid. They wanted EU documents printed in Valencian but the government didn't want the expense so just printed a few Catalan copies and said it was Valencian and then everyone was happy.

There is a brilliant chinese restaurant near the shopping centre. cheap as £#%&! & great food!

Funnily enough me & the Mrs were in Benidorm on hols. We went to Valencia for a day trip. 2 hour coach trip. We had the chinese & a shed load of booze within an hour or 2 of arriving & couldnt be bothered mooching around Valencia so got the 2 hour coach back virtually straight away!

a mate of mine has just come back from his second stag do and they went to valencia, said it was very good - trying to get his top tips..

Thanks for your tips lads, though I'll be avoiding the Chinese I think.

Fancy a paella, which is meant to be the %@#$&!s over there, with it being by the sea and all that.

And an estrella dam or two I would think. Though must be careful of the waistline.

I like Valencia a lot.

The town centre's good - big enough to have lots of places to go, small enough that you can walk between most of them. The Black Sheep's a good place to start out from (near the Palau de Justicia).

The seaside's an easy trip out of town - lots of paella and seafood places out there - mostly full of locals and therefore not dirt cheap, but not tourist tat either.

And I hate to say this, because it's really embarrasing to admit to knowing this - the museums and stuff along the dry river river valley (Turia) are good.

For innocent bystanders reading the thread - peak season in Valencia is the fiesta mid March (look up Fallas on Wikipedia)

Don't think its Estrella Dam in Valencia.

Think the standard barril is Mahou.
