Default Evra wants £120k a week

oh dear, if true.

Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is on a collision course with the club after demanding a £120,000-a-week contract. Evra currently earns about £36,000 per week but wants parity with the club's top earners before he commits himself to a new deal. (Daily Mirror)

Don't ask me why but I think Paddy genuinely loves playing for Manchester United... he'll sign. I'm sure of that.

The only way I can see that being true if he's thought 'If you don't ask, you don't get' and would be happy with much less than that.

No, the story is a load of %@#$&!s.

Ferdinand is one of the best defenders in the world, and should be paid accordingly IMO. Never called him a @#%&!.

Good point that.

To be fair, I think that it's unlikely. We know he's after a new deal though, and if the same story came out about Rio then people would be jumping all over him. Because it's forum favourite Evra, nobody wants to believe it might be true.

That's about the size of it yes...

I don't begrudge Ferdinand being on par with the top earners - I think it was more to do with the fact he was holding out because he was the first one to get that stupid amount of money (if memory serves).

To be honest it was a disgrace he had to fight so hard to get paid to his proper value.

Patrice Evra seeks hefty pay rise
Fergie cash pledge to Cristiano
By John Cross 29/01/2008

Patrice Evra is on a collision course with Manchester United after demanding a staggering £120,000-a-week contract.

United full-back Evra is demanding parity with the top earners at the club like Rio Ferdinand before he commits himself to stay at Old Trafford. Evra (right) who who joined United two years ago from Monaco for £5.5million, is currently on £36,000 a week and has just started talks about a new deal.

But the 26-year-old's demands have caused a major stand-off with the club after his representatives insisted he deserves to be among their top earners.

My, my what a quote filled story.
