Yep. An absolute liability at times but he was a lovable little scamp.

Still love Rafael but I have to admit that he has never got back to his level of 12/13. He and Tete are sharing the RB duties at Lyon this season, the injuries have not helped, lost a yard of pace.

Lost a lot of good players in the LVG era, players who could have helped stabilize this transitional phase, wasted a lot of money replacing them with lesser or similar level players meaning there were fewer resources available to throw at top level players. Rafael, Nani, Welbeck, Kagawa, knowing what we know would you invest time in Depay or try to develop Zaha. Those guys knew the club, understood what was required, no guarantees but perhaps they could have provided a semblance of leadership.

Evans was not a mistake though, his confidence was gone, needed the move. At times he was horrifically soft and weak, easily bullied , Lindelof makes him look tough.

people believe this %@#$&!s?

he's already tried to retire once and Jose convinced him to have one more contract extension.
He's done at the end of this season imo and he'll quite rightly retire at the top

Club confirms he's retiring at the end of the season and joining the coaching staff.

Sad way for it to end for him. Absolutely lovely player, would kill for a 25 year old Carrick in the midfield now.

Hope he's around the first team. He's a perfect coach for pogba. Similar range of passing.

It's about as good an ending a player could hope for. Gradually diminishing appearances, staying around the club, not having to drop down a level or two. Fitting end for a consumate pro like Carrick tbh
