First game back after 2 months out with a broken toe. Chance from a corner on my stricken left foot and smashed it into the bottom corner.

Aside from that played like shit and we got pasted 15-10...

Thumbs up

First game for 3 years last night with some of the local dads . Heavy representation of senior management in the playing ranks . Loads of people telling others what to do and no £#%&!er actually doing it .

Also no one swore . At all . Apart from me . Hushed silence when I shouted The c bomb after missing a one on one with the keeper .

I was intermittently very bad and quite useful .

Can't wait for next week .

Highlight of our week Codders, is the Wednesday night game after work on the Ordsall pitches bordering Trafford Rd.

We regularly play 6/7 a side on the width of the full pitch. Most nights we get lucky and no one's booked after our hour slot from 6-7pm and we end up playing until around 8.00.

Our lot are the same - hardly anyone swears, which I find a bit weird

Genuinely feel so lucky to still be reasonably fit and well enough to play a respectable (ie mostly shit) box-to-box role at my age. Buzz lasts at least until the weekend.

Bloody love playing football, tbh.

Started playing with the lads from work - a bit of a shock tbh.

I do circuits at the gym 3 or 4 times a week so I thought i'd be billy big %@#$&!s running solidly for 80 mins.

Was I £#%&!, the short sprints wrecked me.

And my diabolical touch and inability to find space or beat a man didn't do much for the team either.

Other than fitness and skill though I was awesome.

I play 9 a side on a 3/4 sized 4g pitch, its superb. I usually play the full 90 but rarely cross the half way line. Its a great run out with mostly lads my age, I'm just glad to be still playing as once you stop you rarely go back.

Knackered after 30 mins tho .

Can't wait for next week
