So many players had outstanding seasons in 98/99 - Giggsy's wonder goal in the semi at Villa Park, and Keane's finest hour at Juve will never be forgotten - but Beckham was Player of the Season by a country mile for me.

The mental resilience and strength of character he showed coming off the back of what he went through after France 98, and the shift he put in for United that season, was nothing short of heroic.
