Should be a public poll, tbh.

No chance. Great players don't automatically make for great managers. Sir Bobby was a £#%&!ing shit manager as was as Bobby Moore. The idea that he should walk into the biggest job in British football because 'He's Ryan Giggs' is a £#%&!ing joke. Let him prove himself elsewhere if he's got the %@#$&!s for it. Hoping Gary Neville does well though..

I've never looked at Giggs and thought he looked smart and tactically astute.

I've never thought he looked like a good motivator.

I've never thought he came across as someone you could respect.

His achievements in the game speak for himself and it will be a long time before someone matches his medal haul. But as many people have stated, that doesn't make a good manager.

It was widely accepted last year that he would take over from LvG for 2017/18. I wonder if that is still the case with LvG floundering.

No way. Who in the last 20 years that's played for us, would be any good as a manager here?

Laurent Blanc? Possibly. Done well as a manager
G Neville? Unproven.
Teddy Sheringham? Learning from the bottom.
Keano? Nah.
Ole? Not yet, no.

Not sure who else would have a reasonable chance tbh. A top player certainly doesn't necessarily make a good manager.
It's one thing running up and down the wing, knocking balls into the box. But being in charge of a group of 20 or so pro players, training them to play a certain way and style, then having the ability to change things tactically outside and during games. As well as handling the board upstairs, media, strengthening the team, building for the future etc. And that's at any old club. At an enormous club like Utd, the pressure will be unbelievable.
Giggs doesn't appear to be that kind of bloke tbh.

Agreed wouldn't have bothered voting if I'd realised it was private. What's the point?

For those who missed RG´s documentary here's a condensed version. The first minute or so follows Ryan's team selection process. Possibly more suited to a non-league team.

Absolutely not.

He was a great player. We'd be basing it more or less solely on that. Which would be £#%&!ing stupid
Especially considering most good managers were shit players.

State of this £#%&!ing poll. Not only is it not public, I'm £#%&!ing incensed about the very concept of giggs managing United. What £#%&!ing credentials does he have? Yeah, legendary player, hairy chest, understated £#%&! your brothers mrs type chap - get to £#%&!. Absolutely no reason on earth he should be anywhere near the managerial role. The rest of the @#%&!ing class of 92 can £#%&! off as well. They've served their purpose, now £#%&! the £#%&! off and fade into obscurity with dignity instead of opening your gobby @#%&! holes every five minutes for some BT sport dollars. #@&%!s. We've always taken the piss out of the amount of scousers punditing (?) on the BBC but £#%&! me, I actually feel sorry for the @#%&!s now if this is the equivalent of what they've had to put up with. And anyone thinking giggs, neville, scholes or william £#%&!ing prunier would be a better bet than LVG can take their heads for a joyride at 70 through a hamlet as well. State of our support.

If he hadn't played for us it wouldn't even be a point of discussion and I find it hard to believe the board would make another awful appointment so soon after Moyes.

I can imagine GN being in the running in 18 months time if he makes a good fist of the Valencia job and there are no obvious high profile candidates.

It never seems real. Every time I watch it, it seems like it has to be a scene from Mike Bassett, England Manager.

Getting absolutely thrashed - 'This is a real test'

i've seen little to suggest he has the chops for it so far, which is why i would welcome him taking a job elsewhere if offered.

giggs as manager has to happen eventually, purely because there is so much pressure for it and united need to get out of their system one way or another. even if he fails in six months it will still answer the question.

If he had the chops, he'd be beating down the door for this job!

But, he's under this illusion he's getting the United job...We have pops at him but, there is no way Woodward is giving Giggs the job
