Cristiano Ronaldo has given the strongest indication yet that he will be staying at Manchester United next season.

"I am staying at Manchester United," the Portuguese winger stated last night, and he was backed up by the manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who claimed Ronaldo had given "no indication that he wants to go".

However Ferguson expressed far less certainty on the future of Carlos Tevez, who appeared to wave goodbye to the fans after United clinched the Premier League title against Arsenal.

Ronaldo has consistently been linked with a move to Real Madrid, speculation which has dominated off-season headlines for the past two years.

"Manchester United is my home," Ronaldo added. "My heart is here. This is where I want to play. The boss believes in this team and so do I. Ever since I joined United, he has been like a second father to me. People are still going to speak and make things up. But this is where I want to play. Manchester United is now my house."
