Right-back. But he was beastly for Mou, albeit more in the Italian league that they dominated.

It's pretty common for Mou to put the reigns on his full-backs, especially in big games, but I think with Shaw's quality you just can't really afford to do that. I except it'll be compensated with a more conservative approach from the right-back in the bigger games. Valencia and Darmian both suited to that. Would love to see him at least try and give Mensah the chances early on, though.

This - there's no way the physique he started the season with would have aided him on the wing. Some upper body muscle weight needed stripping.

Yep, he was built like a shit Championship striker rather than a top class winger.

Better to be athletic and quick, than packed out and lacking the first two yards of pace which the best wide players have.

He was far too heavy. Even the other players were commenting on how musclebound he was. As a result we saw him blowing out of his arse very quickly in the premier league. His stamina was shocking.

I can't believe he was allowed to get that big by the coaches and fitness people at the club tbh.
