Bryan Robson Was A King
Princes or Kings’. Those are the labels Norman Whiteside gives to high class players. For example he views George Best as a King and sees himself as a Prince in terms of footballing royalty.
The former Manchester United and Northern Ireland hero explains: “The likes of George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton and I’d say Eric Cantona you could call them Kings. “I was very much a Prince. I was just under that level. I’d have been like a Paddy Crerand. Paddy wasn’t the same as George. George was world class. Paddy was just under and I’d be in the Paddy Crerand class.” Another regal performer in Whiteside’s eyes was his captain at United, Bryan Robson. “Robbo was the best I played with,” says the youngest player to ever feature in the World Cup finals. https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/spo...-41711458.html Good article. |

I remember it doing me in when he'd made a(nother) comeback and dislocated his shoulder again. He was all we had. Scousers were winning everything but they'd have killed for Robbo. |
