Those 3 draw the best players every year, not much in the way of tactical evolution required, so their play plateaus.

The competition is mostly stagnant, Atletico deserve a great deal of credit for fighting it, even if their style is not exactly aesthetically pleasing. I am hoping Leicester winning the PL is the humiliation that our top clubs deserve, you look at how strong the PL was in the mid to late 00's and the drop off has been stark.

How do you reverse the trend? Bayern are untouchable domestically, the same with PSG, Italy can not compete financially, the PL has to be stronger, use their resources more intelligently.

Obviously England is the country that could and should affect the competition more.

I think Juve will keep getting stronger. Very well run club. But the other teams over there have no potential, really. Unless perhaps Simeone makes good on his previous intention to manage Inter, which would be great for Italian football.

For all Bayern's power, Guardiola has made them more dominant in Germany than they had been previously. And they had one of those great generations of players come through. Perhaps more hope for Dortmund next season, even without Hummels.

The end of the Messi and Ronaldo era in a few years might help others catch up in Spain, too

It is not the loss of the individual that truly hurts Dortmund imo. It is what is revealed about their status in that league. Selling the vision of Dortmund as a dominant or even equal force is surely impossible now, any player who excels there is likely to be cherry picked by Bayern, publicly at that, showing off who is in charge. The draw of Guardiola added to that made it far too easy for them.

The Dortmund fans must despise Bayern to a transcendent level.
