Default Eto would rather take a pay cut and play for us than city.

Titanics at the ready, I've had a look and can't see a thread.

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/spor...-Nou-Camp.html

Hmmmm, I'd take him.

Hmmmm, I'd take him.
Even as a straight in highest earner at the club?

If Valencia turn down Barca's £40m offer for Villa, they will turn their attention to Diego Forlan. The Atletico Madrid striker has a £33m buyout clause, although Barca believe they could get him for closer to £30m
I wouldn't want him at those wage demands, £#%&! that.

We are still going to be light up top next season and we need a proven world class out and out striker.

Who else is it going to be possible to get?

Hardly a pay cut, £40,000 a week more than he currently gets.

Dunno, but if fergie brings in a top striker the Owen signing will look quite clever if the little @#%&! knocks in a couple of important goals.

However, if ratboy is the only signing it will make us look desperate.

We're desperate and we allegedly have £80m (minus the Valencia fee) in the bank.

He may be a @#%&! but definitely worth a gamble.

I'd love him at the club and would be prepared to take a gamble Popers but what sort of climate would be created among the other players For him to come in straight as highest paid player?

true

plenty more strikers/attacking players potentially gettable apart from eto'o:

villa
forlan
young
agbonlahor
fabiano
pato
aguero
hulk
rossi
schneijder
van der vaart
van persie
silva
gomez
podolski
dembele
suarez
sanchez

a list off the top of my head and some for the future, admittedly. but it's not like there's a dearth of talent around. it's just picking a player with the right characteristics and character to suit united. i trust fergie to do that, obviously.

Tbh I don't think there are too many (if any) slapped arses at Utd now. Ronaldo perhaps may have thrown a little strop via his agent but I couldn't see Rooney, Anderson or Carrick for example being too bothered about it.

Rio?

some players may have contracts that guarantee them parity with the top earner at the club. anyway, can't see it happening. i think we'll be getting somebody slightly less established.

Don't we still have Manucho to come back?

Or has Marlo forgotten to remind us all about him

So do I, but I wish he would get a £#%&!ing move on.

I don't want to go into next season relying on Owen for goals.

do we really need another striker? i think we should go with what we have and strenghten midfield instead.

Exactly. I can imagine a few of our senior players will be seriously pissed off if he just strolls into the club on 150k a week.

Great player and i would love him to come here, but if he's asking for them wages then he can £#%&! off.
