Unhappy Giggs is still the plan

Taken from a post on Reddit -

Ian Herbert (hes currently working under Ogden for The Independent) was on 5Live earlier discussing the Times article that Northcroft wrote last night. He agreed with the article but added some points that I thought were pretty interesting. I listening to it 3 hours ago so Im going off memory
  • When asked about the right time for Giggs to take over he said the club are still going off the original plan that LVG sees out the last 18 months of his contract and Giggs takes over June 2017
  • Was a mention about Giggs maybe being ready this summer
  • Says the club have no intention of sacking LVG and he doesnt think they have even come close to it
  • The reports last month about LVG being 1 or 2 games from the sack were not from the club and was about LVG being close to walking away.
  • Still thinks LVG could walk if he is not happy and made reference to how many times hes walked from clubs
  • The club have spent a very long time convincing LVG to take the criticism of him and continue with his job
  • The club do not want him to leave this season because they will have to go and get a manager (with the idea that Giggs isnt ready)
  • The Owners (specifically says owners and not ED) may listen to the fans if the fans calling for him to be sacked get louder but Ed is behind LVG
  • The club do not want to sign Jose
  • There are people at the club that think hes goes against everything club stands for

My main objection to Giggs as Manager is his Salford upbringing

it is in his DNA to ;

* throw sickies
* be violent
* use poor grammar
* steal from both his employers and his workmates
* intimidate pub landlords

wouldn't touch him with a bargepole

It might work with Giggs taking over from LVG, but it might not, only time will tell if this is the clubs plan. Prefer Mourhino, but the clubs dithering has lost the chance of getting him IMO and chances are we will regret it. To be the best you need the best players and managers, which Mourhino is the best. Giggs will give everything and more to get us to succeed, but will it be enough?

Well the only definite there is that we won't be hiring Jose. If we were we'd have done it by now.

Correct. And they're hardly going to start briefing anything else, are they?

"Oh yeah, we plan to £#%&! Van Gaal and Giggs off in the summer for Pep. Sure they won't mind etc"

Well if that's true let's hope the plan doesn't involve winning anything of note for a while.

Giggsy, with Scholesy and Butty by his side, will outwit Pep and the rest imo.

I do actually think City's squad needs major work to become Pep friendly tbh. Don't think it's anywhere near as good a fit for him as ours.
