The butchers coats

Legendary era, whether you go off Tony O'Neill or Ian Hough's account of the mid-late 70s. Ten years before my Old Trafford visits started in 86, sounded crazy, back when they used to just hose out the intercity football special from Manchester to London.

I'm not in any, I keep looking though, spoke to Groomy about these.
The lad on the right is a pal of his went by the name - Gurney

[IMG][/IMG]

The lad in the donkey jacket was known as Mad Donald.
Seems about right.

I'm not in any of them, don't recognise anyone else either but great memories.
I was 15 in 1977. I had loads of badges and always wore about 4 scarves, many of which you could buy from what we called the 'souvenir shop' back then. Megastore anyone?
I've still got a scar on my shin from when a Lids fan wearing monkey boots kicked me, think that was in 76. Loads of lads wearing them in these pics.
Thanks for posting. Great stuff.

Levi's jeans, braces, Doc Marten boots, Brutus and Ben Sherman shirts and Slazenger jumpers.

In all honesty, I wouldn't have fancied being on the end of the Cool Cats sticking the boot in either.

Fantastic pictures. Bit too early for me, although I had a lot of them badges etc off my Dad.

The thing that strikes me is how young they all were. Reminds me of my own early days in the early 80s. Easy access to the match, not a lot of money to get in, and loads like you.

Nowadays its like Gods waiting room at OT...

Once had a run in with the so called cool cats

We had been to the anti nazi league gig at Alex park (steel pulse, John cooper Clarke, Buzzcocks) and were getting the bus back to the garden city outside princess rd bus depot. The cool cats decided to show solidarity with their white brethren who had supported anti racism by attacking us with sticks. Fortunately some bigger boys off our estate came along and kicked their £#%&!ing heads in
