Good appointment if true although a tad short sighted from Rogers IMO

He should have stayed at Swansea for a couple seasons and if he wanted a new challenge after that he could still have the pick of a bunch. If he fails at LFC he'll most probs end up back in the Championship and he's obviously much better than that

Think I read somewhere that Martinez wanted full control at LFC but Rodgers was happy to be more of a coach and let the football director bring him players, not sure how much truth is in that though?

Seems strange considering Rodgers appears to have a very specific way of doing things in terms of how his team plays. You think he'd need total control, in that sense. I'd have thought someone who is more of a pragmatist would be more likely to accept that kind of arrangement.

Welcome Brendan, you've a bloody big pair of boots to fill. Good luck and welcome and all the best from us at RAWK
Dripping with arrogance and self-righteousness, sums them up to a t.

What a way to run a £#%&!ing forum. "here's the party line, tow it or you're gone." Why anyone sticks around there is beyond me.

He'll fit in perfectly. Bit of a soppy @#%&! who says the right "right on" things about football and footballers.

Shite - a good Northern Ireland man - always loved the fact that they've never had a NI International while Utd had 34.

Aah well - should give him a good grounding for when the calling for the international team comes.

the current personnel and playing philosophy liverpool have is completely unsuited to what he was doing with swansea. can you imagine gerrard and carroll playing composed, intelligent possession football. if he's afforded a lot of time, patience and money...i think he could do well.

Yep - was talking to one today - if he's to be successful in the long run they'll have to be very patient, owners and supporters, and probably drop back even further before moving forward. Just don't have any players at the moment who would suit the way he plays.

Failed miserably and sacked at both Watford and Reading before Swansea - probably due the clubs being impatient - or maybe not - time will tell.

LFC reserve team players will be loving this

He actually might give them a chance, especially Ecclestone who's 22 now and seems to be happy to play reserve team football and look ordinary most of the time :shakehead:
