Default Sir Matt Busby Way to be pedestrianised

Manchester United Football Club has approval to carry out public-realm works on Sir Matt Busby Way in front of the stadium. The effect of this scheme will be to remove all through traffic (except for cyclists) from Sir Matt Busby Way which will create a new and safe public open space. These works are part of the wider strategy by MUFC to improve public safety in the immediate locality of the stadium.

Works are anticipated to commence on Tuesday 31 May 2011 when the Prohibition of Driving Order will be introduced.

weird, it's necessary for the few hours before and after a game, but can't see the point of it for the rest of the time. Wouldn't closing the road before and after the game have the same affect anyway, why waste money pedestrianising it.

the burger vans pay upwards of 2k per game pitch fee

the swag lads tend to have street trader licences, they would simply move on to railway rd or outside macaris

Sure. It's good to be body proud. But there's confidence and there's arrogance.

We can't all pick up cherries whilst squatting. We can't all bounce pound coins off our clenched gyrating buttocks.

Doesn't make us lesser men...
