Love that film.

Sky+ed it just to remind me to watch it again, even though I already own it

It does take liberties at times though. Clough didn't actually get back together with Taylor until 1976, two years after he left Leeds. He also *did* manage Brighton for a bit (including a famous televised game where they lost to Bristol Rovers 8-2 at home)

Apparently some of the Leeds players later admitted Clough had been right and they were @#%&!s for resisting him........

Well, more fool them, eh

Wish I'd read this before wasting an hour and a half on it - seen some shit wigs in my time but the ones used in that film were utter garbage.

Completely different take to the book - and probably the main part of the film that wound Clough's family up who were totally against it.

To be fair, it wasn't the first time it has been suggested........

Apparently when Clough was told of Taylor's death, he put the phone down without saying a word. He then cried for ages, before getting himself so drunk he passed out. His alcoholism got notably worse afterwards, according to several people who knew him

Draw your own conclusions.

What were the comedy trophies all about? The half size FA cup was a joke.

Clough said in his book Revie tried to bribe him in his first season as a manager at Hartlepool.

Yep, he wasn't just a @#%&! but a corrupt @#%&! to boot

You could also have asked the late lamented Bob Stokoe - or several early 70s Wolves players..........

I thought it was a class film.

That fight, good on Lee I say, Hunter looks your typical shithouse

Cant believe the Leeds players reacted so badly to Cloughs appointment and yes, he and Taylor came across very ahem in the movie.

I loved the film. I assume not all of it is historically accurate, but as a piece of drama, it's top-rate.

It's a bit comedic how shit some of the actors playing Leeds players were at football, particularly Bremner.
