I know what you mean here, Ronaldo has never amazed me in that same manner that Giggs very often did. Perhaps it is a generation thing, but Giggs on form, with the ball at feet was simply astonishing to watch, so graceful, just flowed over the ground with the ball inches from his feet.

Ronaldo is the better player, he can finish for a start, 2 footed, better in the air, has that mentality that you point out. He is incredibly skillfull, a lot of it is learned tricks, and he can struggle to beat a defender when he does not have the physcial advantage over them.

For me Giggs was the better pure dribbler, Messi has a similar style, uses natural skill, feints, shimmies, wonderful natural balance to wrongfoot defenders. Personally I prefer that style.

Either way we are blessed to see such talent at this club.

I'd agree with those sentiments. Ronaldo is a phenomenal player, in terms of his goal scoring ability he's pretty much unique for a player of his (nominal) position, but I don't think he'll ever be as elegant or exhilarating to watch as a real dribbler like Giggs at his best.
