I thought he was very good, playing in a role that wasn't his natural position. His energy and workrate was obscene considering he's just come back from surgery.
I also thought it was a very smart (and incredibly brave) move from the Chile manager to play him so far up the pitch. With Iniesta and Silva at the top of Spain's midfield, you'd think Vidal would have been deployed deeper to combat them, but Sampaoli took the game right to Spain with Vidal, Sanchez and Vargas relentlessly pressing the Spain back four and holding midfielders.
Sad thing is, there's absolutely no chance United will be signing Vidal.
