Default Virgin Media speeds?

Just had 'up to 151 mb' installed.

I'm getting a paltry 50mb according to speedtest.

Question: is it like Sky, where they eff about with your speeds for the first week or so?

Question: why are there '2g' and '5g' wifi connections listed on the virgin wireless modem? I'm only seeing the former listed on my windows laptop.

Question: how long before Forzagarza replies with the kind of wry witticism that usually makes me smile, but in this case causes deep rage?

Cheers.

Does it matter ?

Ooh, the webpage loaded 1.5 seconds quicker than usual, and that video clip of the giraffe falling over loaded in 2.5 seconds, my life is complete

Grow up

Virgin speeds between 5pm and 10pm are rarely 150meg due to too many people in the area being online. They sort this eventually by upgrading the box on your road ( within 3 months )

you will get the full speed outside of these times until then.

The router is dualband, meaning it allows both 2g and 5g devices to connect ( if you device can connect via 5, then do it as that is the best one. 2g is for older things )

You have no idea how many years I've waited for this day. I am absolutely buzzing and you are a silly old fart.

Ah. Didn't realise the throttling started so early.

Bloody hope they do upgrade the street box.
