Nani does have pace, he just doesn't have the quick shift of balance which is key to turning defenders the way valencia does.

it also requires confidence, something I'm not sure Nani will ever get here considering he's an easy scapegoat. In a way he needs to just £#%&! the club, the team and the fans and think "£#%&! it I'm gonna play the way I want and just enjoy myself, £#%&! what anyone else thinks".

when you're low in confidence, you don't want the ball as much, and so you don't push the boat out to get it. Making a run behind the full back means yo encourage a long ball over his head, a difficult ball you'll have to chase and control and when you do you find yourself in a position to deliver. Someone who is scared doesn't make that run. He wants the ball while he is in his comfort zone.

too many of our players are like this now. if you dont ask you dont get, dont make the run, you dont do the damage.

I think Nani had a good game by the way, just that he stayed in his comfort zone, which is probably sensible for now. good to see someone actually put in good crosses, our strikers were hopeless though. if that was an opposition winger crossing it into our box all game we'd be thinking he had a blinder, like that guy for CSKA. Get on the ball, whip a decent cross in that finds our strikers head, thats his bit done. Our wingers were our best players by a mile.

Excellent performance today, my only fear is that he'll be shunted back onto the left or dropped for Valencia next week. Should start againt City after that performance IMO then let the two of them fight it out for that place on the right. valencia has had a pretty solid season so far but as we've seen today Nani has that burst of pace and bit of trickery we so dearly miss after you know who £#%&!ed off last summer.

He kept his head down, workedhard and has just put in his best Utd performance.


If the fans can get behind him this could change our season.
