Probably mentioned this before but a manager at our place hasn't missed a crewe home game since the 70's and rates him as the best player he's seen come through there. Injuries and lack of desire seem to have done for him.

He looked like he might have had the talent but if we believe all we read he didn't have the desire to match it.

All too common with young English players nowadays.

It's always been my issue too. Great excuse for loads of other personal failings too. I'd recommend it to anybody.

Given the constant stream of world-class talent that they've produced over the last 40 years, that's some statement.

You jest, but a few of their players went on to greater things. Dario Gradi wasn't rated by his peers (Freggle included) for nothing.

Not sure I'd trust the judgment of someone who's voluntarily watched over a thousand Crewe games tbh.
