Default manchester picadilly to OT train

Going to the opening game but flying home from liverpol same evening, reckon that I should have time but checked out the quickest way is the train outside the ground. Would this be right
? And can you get the train tickets on the day?
Thanks in advance

Don't think you can get to liverpool from the ground. You're probably best getting a return on the metro and getting the train to liverpool from Piccadilly. You can get tickets on the day.

I am getting a bus from Sackville street to Liverpool airport, terravision company, there is a bus at four which would be ideal or 4.45 which would be cutting it tight.
I have walked back into the city before, might be the quickest

Was gonna recommend walking it unless you leg it to the stop before everyone else. the train from Victoria has a stop at liverpool airport. Probably not a lot of difference in price.

Just jump in a taxi. Leave a bit early and then you should grab one outside the ford garage.

You can walk to deansgate in around 20mins top, it's one straight road. Quicker than the train, met and possibly bus...

Depends on your fitness levels.

1. Walk
2. Bus
3. Train (prepare to wait)
4. Met (would rather be dead)

Think I will walk it, weather permitting, did it years ago when I got separated from my mates, walked in as far as deansgate and got a taxi from there, google says it about three mile walk and takes around an hour, would walk it quicker than that, all is good.
Many thanks for the replies.

Walk to Deansgate Station then train to Liverpool South Parkway then train from there to the airport. Much quicker than the coach.

Don't £#%&!ing walk it, crazy idea.

Who walks to the ground from town ffs? It's not the 1940s.

To get back quickly leave with 5 mins to go and jump a cab.

Tram from Exchange Quay would be just as quick.

Walk it regularly

Especially after the game...it's easier and quicker than the Munich tunnel sprint and taxi...

Very surprised and disappointed to hear this.

Walking back into town is such a noob thing to do.

Would you walk to Levenshulme or Fallowfield from town too?
