Default just had a conversation with bill foulkes....

......at the check out queue at M&S in Sale

I meant to say

"mr foulkes, what an integral part of manchester uniteds history you are. Survivor of munich, scorer of a goal in the 68 semi v real madrid, and victor in Sir Matts finest hour"

it came out as

"hello mr foulkes, yer alright ?"

similar thing happened to me ....i was at at Blackburn v Villa game a few years ago as a guest of the B/B chairman and Bill Foulkes was sat behind me...nobody recognised him apart from me

i turned round and asked him to sign my ticket.....then instead of saying to him.....

"mr foulkes, what an integral part of manchester uniteds history you are. Survivor of munich, scorer of a goal in the 68 semi v real madrid, and victor in Sir Matts finest hour"

it came out

"what are you doing here ?"

to which he replied, he was running his eye over some player or other....

instead of retreating back to my seat...i compounded the issue when i asked if he could sort me a ticket for the forthcoming B/Burn v United game a week or two later

the request was met with silence
