When was the last time United signed a star player at their peak from a foreign league? I can only recall one instance of it in our recent history - Veron. 14 years ago.

United simply don't do this type of signing.

'star' is broad term, but someone at their peak at a top European club, it's very rare.

The majority of the time, it's because these players are unattainable. vidal seems 'gettable'. The main issue would be someone else getting him, but Juventus aren't in a strong position unlike barca when we went for Fabregas or inter re Sneijder.

I still don't think it'll happen, but it doesn't strike me as a complete non - starter. fabregas last year, for example, just seemed like a total waste of time from the get - go.
