Default Things for Fergie to do on holiday

apart from sorting out the squad.

1. Decide the new penalty taker.

Looking at our last 5 regular takers -Ronaldo, Ruud, Eric, Irwin and Bruce.
Not only did you expect them to score, you also expected them to be on the pitch at the time.

How many players can you guarantee will most likely be playing virtually every match and can score penalties? Will we get awarded more penalties without the Ronaldo factor?

2. Sort out new free kick routines.

We've relied on Ronaldo the last 2 seasons. Have we got anybody else who can leather the ball from 30 yards when it is straight rather than at an angle? Have we got any routines for angled deliveries - how many goals do Chelsea score from Lampard's deliveries?

3. Sort out corner kick routines.

Who else can attack/head the ball other than Vidic?

4. Get somebody who can head the ball.

How many of our strikers (other than Ronaldo) can head the ball?

5. Watch the England tapes.

OK they were against lowly teams but how many chances has Rooney been creating/getting by being in the box?

6. Fast breakaway goals.

Over the last 2 seasons we have scored a number of goals with Rooney and Ronaldo setting each other up at the end of these moves. Who is going to do connect with Rooney now?

Can see Mickey just nonchalantly dropping his trunks and launching them into the pool for him "Here you go gaffer" followed by a cheeky wink whilst he stretches/swings his #@&%! around to give him a little more girth/length just incase there are any paparazzi about.

9. no question about it, he'll take over the running of the lighthearted impromptu kids ping-pong tournament going on under the awning back up at the beach hut.

He'll draw up rounds, get out his stopwatch, and make sure that when he's not playing the only bat that still has rubber on both sides has been conveniently misplaced behind the bar by Luigi

Anderson and Hargreaves would stand out as the 2 for me. But like you say, will they always be on the pitch?

2. Sort out new free kick routines.

We need to cross more of them, something we never do if theyre even remotely central. Giggs and Hargreaves (but how much will they be involved) take good free kicks from close range. As does Berbatov, new free kick taker right there perhaps. Ronney definately has the ability as well.

3. Sort out corner kick routines.

Totally agree - tis why I think we need a sign a striker of some height. Benzema >option than Villa in this case

Carrick and Rio are appalling attackers of a cross for big men.

4. Get somebody who can head the ball.

see above - though Im not sure he can even head it well so my point may be redundant

5. Watch the England tapes.

I think we'll see Wayne through the middle a lot more next season, especially after the Rome debacle.

6. Fast breakaway goals.

The new signings

One things for sure, that Valencia looks fast. Nani's now slouch either.
