Great point that.

Since that achilles injury the amount of tackles he has received on his ankle region has been a £#%&!ing joke. Last he was tackled from behind on his ankles at least 3 or 4 times. Players take him first and then get the ball - that's a foul.

The Stephen Ireland one on Sunday was a perfect example.

There is much more to come from the Berb

I'm a freak you see - I like all of our forward players and try not to single one or more out for constant criticism. Crazy I know

Anyway great win last night. 18 all can be tasted.

Berbatov has actually sacrificed a lot of his natural game but nobody seems to be giving him credit for that.

It seems to me that we are replicating a lot of 'Spaletti's Roma model' with Berbie as the fulcrum of the team (like Totti) with the midfield running beyond him.

That Roma model didn't actually play with an out and out forward, it was just based on possession in the final third and intelligent movement from the breaking players - it'll hopefully get the best out of Ronaldo and Rooney who have the pace, power, fitness, skill and intelligence to utilise the large openings

It set up similar to a 4-1-4-1 with De-Rossi holding, 4 midfielders and a very deep Totti.

Carrick

Ronaldo - Hargreaves/Fletcher - Anderson - Rooney

Berbatov

Totti would often just make things tick from the half way line

Swap ronaldo for Valencia and that's our team

Not good enough imo.

We'd struggle next season with that side.
