He doesn't get credit it for how good he is as a footballer, look at him comparing to most centre backs in England, Shawcross etc. He is not just a centre back he can play as well. I'm not convinced he will be replaced by Smalling as soon a Smalling is back, he is more likely to play in place of Rio so Rio can have more of a rest and I'm not convinced about what will happen to Vidic. Smalling is very good and I really like him but imagine if Evans had made the mistake he made at city in such a big game? Mistakes like that happen with young defenders yet Evans use to get loads of stick off certain people, he has stopped them mistakes now, of course every defender can still make mistakes though including experienced centre backs like Rio.

can't make my mind up. for 80 mins it can be like watching a real classy player who would be the best defender in any team outside of the current top 3.

then for 10 mins he can be all over the place.

He's neither, so if you're not allowed to sit on the fence...

The reality is, at the moment, he is just under Uniteds level imo. I think he knows it too, written all over his face in some games.

Good player. Proved himself last season after Vidic was injured and he came into the side having had a mare the previous year.

can't help himself, Borsuk.

everyone who seems vaguely competent at football is a "future united captain"

£#%&! me, he's virtually already crowned Welbeck the best striker in europe 2015 and that @#%&! couldn't hit a cow's arse in a passage most of the time.

Come a long way from that night at West Ham in the Carling Cup.

His ball playing ability from the back is first rate.

Considering who we have had out, he has done better than anybody could have dreamed - of course he still makes the odd mistake, but who doesn't? Happy to vote "Yes" after today

After this thread was started last night I felt sure Evans would do something stupid to delight Sparky and co but instead in put in one of his best performances for Utd

He is great on the ball (dare I say better than Rio ever was) and he should be encouraged by Fergie to bring it out of the back more

Man of the match today for me

Better with the ball than that overrated @#%&! Pique.

He's stepped up when we've needed him and is now deservedly a first-choice centre-back (with Vidic) when everyone is fit. Top player.
