Default Rooney the most effective wide player today

Lots of people criticise him and he deserves a lot of it but I love the guy because he's so selfless. When miki and rash came on he went out wide and affected the game.

Harsh on Valencia tbh.

Rooney was lucky that Martial had used up all the full backs energy.

Just because his was the only ball that actually produced a goal doesn't mean the rest were ineffective.

Would probably say Rashford was more effective in terms of players in wide positions today, forced the keeper into a great save coming in from wide, put in just about the best ball of the day that Zlat should've been on and got a goal. The kids a beast

It was the pace of Rashford and Miki which created the space for Rooney. The subs changed the game and like has been said, the Hull players were out on their feet. Great bit of play from Rooney for the goal though.

Absolute state of you...

Armchair is spot on, very effective out there and of course Made the goal for the brilliant Rashford.
He selflessly drops into any position and dictates the game....

Thought he was good with Zlat today at times aswell..

Solid performance, not a brilliant first half

El mohamedy's joke of a challenge because he was %@#$&!sed had nothing to do with it then? Was purely Rooney's brilliance..? Ok, cool.

Dictates the game

It's ok to be mad mate.....

Enjoy it...

Rooney only skipped past that defender in injury time because martial had made him tired...

The game changed once he got the £#%&! out of Zlatan and Micky's way.

The difference between what he served up in the middle for 65 minutes and what Mkhitaryan brought to the table was night and day.

He rolled back the years with a fantastic bit of play at the end, but for the majority of that match he was total and utter dogshit.

Utter turd for the whole game and one bit of class at the end. Up there with when Falcao won a penalty vs Sunderland

Can't shoe horn him up front anymore, nor as a 10 or midfield so it's inevitable his mates look for over positions to get the @#%&! in.

Martial was our best outfield player last season and has the potential to be a world beater, lets £#%&! him off and stick an overweight scouse slug on the left wing
