anyway, for all the shouting on here rooney is doing a very important job for the team this second half. he's not playing badly at all now we've got o'shea on and some control over the centre of the field. most of our attacking penetration is thanks to tevez but it's through rooney that most of the play is moving. in short, it's rooney's presence and movement that is enabling tevez to make his bursts.
Dont be silly.

I expect Ronnie to be on the bench for the Chelsea game. If not, the game after that.

Even though Nani was shite today, this is the team I would play against Chelsea and the Scouse:

VDS
Paddy
Rio
Vidic
Brown
Anderson
Scholes
Carrick
Nani/Giggs
Tevez
Berbatov

...with Ronaldo to come on for Nani/Giggs if he's fit.

Without Tevez we've struggled but we can handle Rooney not playing

Look at Newcastle and the Charity Shield, we were far more dominant and looked more of a threat.

Wayne gets marked out of the games so easily, he's a wonderful football but he should use his imagination more and not think about jumping into tackles.

Berb is needed, Berbie and Tevez would be a interesting pair to say the least.

Vic the only time Nani should be playing against Liverpool/Chelsea is in the reserves on that peformance, zero end product.

There are some on here like One Love and MJ, that will defend Rooney no matter what.

All that is bullshit and hype. I've seen Fletcher, Park and O'shea all get slated after playing well. All because they arent flashy names with big reputations.

When Waaza plays well he is praised to high heaven. But criticise him after a poor game, and its like blasphemy

Poeple have recovered from major injuries before.

Its not my problem he's injury-prone.

Stop making excuses for him.

He's been crap intermittently for 2 years now.

On tonights performance it looks like Rooney has morphed into John Hartson in appearance and performance.

I can only imagine what Rooney will be like at 28.

The lifestyle he lives, the weight issues he has...another Gazza on our hands?

what a £#%&!ing cretin you are, Rooney was no where near as poor as some of the players on the pitch tonight.

Just look at the ball he played into Tevez which set up the goal - amazing.

Also bare in mind he's not had pre season and normally takes a few games to hit form.

nft.

decent performance from rooney second half, once we got a grip on central m/f. anderson was ill-disciplined and wasteful at times, i thought.

On current form, so am I.

A spell on the bench will do him and the team well.
