Wes Brown is holding out for £80,000 per week after turning down a £55,000 offer from Man Utd. (News of the World)

I know, they didn't get him though and these guys (not connected to the club at all) say they want Brown. I'm not surprised, string quick English defender, they don't grow on trees.

To be fair, they do have shit defenders, Wes'd be a guaranteed first teamer there. Might be worth more to them than as a backup for us.

Not me, personally I'll be sad if Wes goes. Thing is though I don't see him being first choice as a right back or centre back next season so it's difficult to pay him as one. I believe that story as much as others on the subject.

chelsea have about 4 better central defenders and a better full back so i doubt it.

When the NOTW have a story about Ronaldo we dismiss it as the NOTW stirring up trouble. Personally I think that their football stories are as reliable as any of the media's. I expect this to be something along the lines of Utd offering £55K, agent asking for £80K and they all settle for £65K.

I'd rather pay Wes £80K than see a born and bred Manc play for the vermin. One of the reasons Rooney's signing was so good was so we could see the scousers complain.

I said i believe it about as much as I believe any other story. If we were to pay a backup £65k+ good luck renegotiating every other contract at the club. Are you saying we should pay Wes whatever he demands or is there a limit to how you would pay him?
