His reading of the game is outstanding for a player of his age. He always puts the team above his own profile. Some of his approach play & through balls on Saturday were brilliant. But yes he is due a goal tonight. He looks a bit anxious in front of goal, particuarly at Old Trafford. He's hardly missing 'sitters' as a lot of the FredTissue Rooney-snipers are suggesting (with great delight) ...but he is dwelling on the ball a bit in front of goal. Looking to take it 'round the keeper or looking for a team mate to lay in. That won't last forever mind. He'll score tonight. |

Btw, I hope that 'great delight' dig isnt aimed at me (like I gain some perverse pleasure out of seeing Rooney putting them over, wide, etc, etc). |

Yep those 2 'shinners' at St James Park were embarrassing & essentially don't count towards our goal tally this season. And as for the late breakthrough goal at Reading a few weeks back?...awful finish. Abysmal even. He didn't play against City & he only came on for ten minutes at Fulham so in reality his goals record in the League is quite good of late. The crucial thing of course is that his over all game is as outstanding as ever, but that's no help to anyone |

Remember the miss against the Scouse? Imagine if we'd drawn that game. I'd have been pissed because that was an absolute sitter. Same goes for Lyon. Even Arsenal was frustrating for those of us that are greedy and wanted to see a cricket score. |
